The Thirteenth Green

The site presented both opportunity and challenge: sweeping views toward the golf course on one side and close neighbors on the other. The design responds by carving the plan carefully - opening living spaces toward the green while preserving privacy and a sense of retreat. The front elevation offers a welcoming yet composed presence to the street, while the rear façade expands in transparency, framing views across manicured fairways and wooded hills beyond.

Rather than relying strictly on blank walls for privacy, the architecture uses layers of texture, screening, and careful window placement to mediate openness and enclosure. Board-formed concrete, cedar, large expanses of glass shift rhythmically across the façades, introducing a tactile richness that plays with light and shadow throughout the day. Generous overhangs, recessed entries, and deeply framed windows further shape the home’s visual depth and sense of permanence.

Inside, the same attention to craft continues - clean lines, subtle transitions, and natural finishes bring warmth and cohesion to the interior environment. Each space was conceived to balance livability with architectural clarity, resulting in a residence that feels both grounded and refined.
