Green Bluff Residence

Set within the foothills of the Green community, this single-family home was designed for a family of nine. The area’s long history of equestrian properties and small farms inspired the home’s form and organization, drawing from the rhythms of local vernacular buildings.

The residence is arranged as three distinct pods, separating public and private uses while preserving a sense of intimacy. The children’s wing contains seven compact “micro-rooms,” each providing personal space without inflating the overall scale of the house. At the center, a courtyard anchors the home — a gathering place with a pool and a 32-foot-wide sliding door that dissolves the boundary between interior living and outdoor activity.

The rolling landscape shapes the experience. A ground-level entry leads into spaces that gradually rise with the contours, lifting the courtyard and rear of the house to frame long views across the Peone Prairie.
