Helping Captives is a Christian nonprofit dedicated to serving survivors of sex trafficking. Their new headquarters transforms a former strip club into a beacon of hope — a place designed not only for staff but also as a safe, restorative resource center for those beginning a path toward healing.

The program includes offices, classrooms, and counseling spaces, each designed with warmth and dignity in mind. Materials and finishes evoke a spa-like calm, creating an environment where survivors can feel safe, supported, and at peace. Vaulted ceilings and large skylights bring natural light from above, while minimal openings to the busy urban corridor outside protect privacy and foster a sense of refuge.

The architecture is intentionally inward-looking, providing respite from the noise and traffic of the surrounding city. Within, the building becomes a vessel of light and serenity — a powerful contrast to its past and a physical expression of the organization’s mission: moving from darkness to light, from exploitation to empowerment.
